Application Process

STEP 1: LEARN MORE ABOUT SJCS

We encourage families to get to know SJCS before applying, however this is not a requirement for application. Below are two different ways for you to learn about our inclusive Jewish elementary education program. We invite you to connect with us in all the ways that make sense to you. STEP 2: SUBMIT AN ONLINE APPLICATION

STEP 3: TEACHER EVALUATIONS AND STUDENT RECORDS

Request by: January 15, 2026 | Due: February 27, 2026

Parents request a teacher evaluation from their student's current educator through our application, along with submitting a request for transcripts and student records for applicants for grades 1 to 5 from their current school to be sent to SJCS.

STEP 4: APPLICANT SCHOOL VISIT

All student candidates attend a drop-off student visit, that will include engaging with our team of educators.

Student visit date options will be sent to applicant families after we receive a complete application. A student visit is between one and two hours long, in the morning, during a school day.

If you are not local to the greater Seattle area, we will request videos of your applicant responding to prompts.

STEP 5: DECISION OF ADMISSION

Admissions Decisions Released

A team of school professionals review all applications with care.

We want to ensure that our program offers a good fit for new students and their families. As long as we have available space, we aim to welcome students who can thrive in our school and whose families are aligned with our mission.

Applicants will be notified on March 20, 2026.

Enrollment response: We ask families to respond with their enrollment decision by March 27, 2026.

2026 - 2027 Admissions Timeline

Applications Open: Thursday, September 25, 2025

Completed Application Due: Thursday, January 15, 2026

Financial Aid Application Due: Thursday, February, 5, 2026

Supplemental Forms Due: Friday February 27, 2026

Common Teacher Evaluation Form
Report card and transcript for students entering grades one to five

Acceptance Notification: Friday, March 20, 2026

Admissions Response Deadline: Friday, March 27, 2026
